Can I add magnesium directly to kalkwasser

I've used Kalk for many years but always added magnesium seperately. I have the BRS magnesium sulfate and chloride crystals to make up magnesium solution. Can I add that directly to a kalkwasser solution and dose together or will by mixing them together be an issue?

Adding Mg to Kalk in the wrong proportions can lead to CH4 + H2S.

Definitely don't do that.  Dosing along with calcium would be worse I imagine, but you should definitely dose these two separately.  Add it to your top up water, or just pour it in your sump or high flow area of your tank.  I dose 1000ml all at once per 1 gallon of used Ca and Alk solution (as per the 2-part dosing instructions).

Thanks for the info. I did mix together n dose 2 days ago n all seems fine. I'll start adding magnesium in high flow area as per jroovers suggestion. I used stuff many years ago that we're an all in one calcium magnesium etc n wasnt thinking so I mixed n dosed. Thought I should ask.
