hey Reef Family


I been thinking of using carbon .... like chemi blue or something ... in the bottum of my sock , in my red sea reefer 170 ... there isnt really any other area to put it ... i was wonder ig anyone put it in a sock or not .... or if this is a totally bad idea??? thoughts? ( and rinse it when i clean the sock every 2 days or so?)

no fish atm just sps and little of lps and thats about it other then the snails and crabs...

I use Cuttable Seapora filter pads, I use a carbon-pad, phos-pad and filter floss in the outtake of my HOB reef octopus skimmer, cut them to the needed size and slip them in the chamber, works great easy to replace and best of all SUPER CHEAP!!!!!,

There is my carbon in media bag in between baffles where water flows from skimmer chamber into pump chamber

It is overpriced. IMO, if you do some research on it as well many well known people with science backgrounds have shown what they claim happens doesn't actually in saltwater.

Everyone is going to have their personal preference. I like the rox Carbon, which is sold bulk. Also have had good success with brightwells carbon.
