I have a cleaner wrasse in my tank , and im kind of having an issue I can't get him to eat much I do work from 7am-530 pm so I can't feed him more then once a day , he only easts 3-4 peices of mysis and he looks skinny , anyone have one with adive ? I'm not sure if I should buy copeo pods ? To help getting him eating I've had him for about 1-2 weeks and he was fine at the store .

what was the store feeding him, ask them, you might have to feed the same and wean him over to your food. I have had to that for some fish..

I feed the same stuff lol it's weird , I don't know if he's not happy? He's such a peace full fish the fist 4 days my fish wernt use to him but know they like him .. So it's weird ? He will eat too of 4 mysis and he will try to eat 8 more then spit them out I always feed garlic gard with mysis im a believer i it it fought off ick in my old tank 4 months into it but as the cleaner wrasse goes it's wired I know they were a wee tough on on taking pellets but the same mysis as they'd feed at the store ( and I got to watch him eat at the store before I got him) he was fine ( water is stable awell) would a different food sorce help ? They sell bottles of cope pods live but would he even go for them ?

Have you tried algae sheets or new eras grazers? My wrasses love them. He could quite possibly be eating other things in your tank, worms pods, stuff like that. He may still be adjusting to your tank tho.

Eating 2 mysis at feeding time is a decent amount, they aren't huge fish! They are a grazing fish, which means that they like to eat frequently in small amounts. They also don't get really fat, so don't worry if he looks skinny, he probably always will.

I've had mine for 2.5 years, and I rarely see him eat, but I know he is obviously getting food or else he would be dead! When I feed the tank, he does take a few mysis, and he also picks at algae sheets when I add them, but for the rest of the day he must forage and eat whatever he finds.

check out grocery stores, I buy mine at Zehr's.. a pack is 10 sheets and its a lot cheaper than a lfs. I use both red and green, red goes in their food ( higher nutrients ) and the green goes on clips, I give 1/4 sheet every other day...

I'm sure that someone will disagree but those fish are difficult to keep long term, They have a use in the Aquarium and that's to clean fish of parasites, that's their function, If there are none then it won't survive. I know they are nice and colourful but as with a lot of SW fish, they should have conditions that will enable them to excel.
