Cleaning The Ol' Sand Bed

Anybody have any good ideas on how to manually clean your substrate with the assistance of a CUC? Looking for a way to clean the surface of algae and fish waste.

there are a few things that you can do, personally I use sand sifting star fish...they turn the substrate over...

A conch snail is a nice addition for any algae that grows on the sand bed

Imo I think you would be fine

Buy a gravol vac with a pump or use a turkey baser it works ( gets a little sandy but makes the sand look white again)

Ya, I saw those gravel vacs that work off of a siphon, did you know of one that came with a pimp Luke?

I haven't seen one with a pump I just use something like this ,

( I got mine from big als its green a little better imo but they do the same thing ) onces you stick it in the sand keep pumping and it'll start the syphon and you can controll the vacume pressue by squeezing the tube .

I have one too and works great
