I am trying to figure out what is meant by a c2c drain. Is it an actual style of drain or is it just a skimmer box that runs the length of the tank?

It's the overflow style. Can be internal or external.

Coast to coast is the style of the overflow box. It means that the weir goes from one side of the tank to the other. Beananimal is the drain style, meaning one full siphon plus an open or trickle channel plus an emergency. Full design details found in pulps link above.

I am not doing it I got into an argument with a guy that told me if a tank had a bulkhead on each side and are plumbed together that is what you call a coast to coast. I told him no it wasn't, it is a double durso and is just plumbed together. So I was only trying to verify that I was right by doing some research but couldn't find any thing called a c2c drain. Hense it is not a drain style. As far as my tank goes I just did a bean conversion from a durso and absolutely love it.

An External Coast to Coast is a wonderful thing to have, Saves room in the display. I had a 120 with one, It had 3 drains, one for the Fuge, 2 for the Sump, Most tanks that are built with them will have a notched back pain. Nice but pricey.
