I used cobalt flake for a while. Fish loved it, worked well with my fussy cardinal. All my fish were very healthy from what I could tell but I would also feed frozen and other stuff too. I think a varied diet is good practice.

I have not tired the flake food would like to, I have used there Mysis pellet and Brine shrimp pellet and they seen to really like it. I have a Eheim feeder and I mix things up. I will put some Omega Flake in then some pellets and then O.S.I Flake ( great food ) and maybe some NLS pellets. The new AlgaeMax pellet is a great product my fish just go nuts for it. So then I top it off with more flake and shake, feed times are 4 times a day ( every 6 hrs. ) and 2 time per feeding so it will dispense once and then one minute later again fish are happy, inverts happy and tank is happy. I also try to feed once or twice a week some frozen food. If you think of getting a auto feeder get the stand also as it has a cup area where the food falls into and slowly sinks and then get gets blow around the tank and not into the overflow.

flake is the worst followed by pellets... anything that is dried loses massive amounts of nutrition and it fouls your water so easily. my fish are always bright and healthy and all i feed them is frozen mysis and live brine daily. cyclopeez once a week and always have nori on a clip. that best mimics their natural diet and keeps thieir natural predetorial instincts and can even help lower aggression. flake and pellets actually incourage aggression by limiting the feeding zone. I do once every couple weeks throw a couple pinches of omega one pellets with garlic additive in to help boost immune system.
