maybe look into the reef brite fixtures, you could get 2 strips for the same or less than that one from current and you could add a single strip on each side of your t5 fixture. reefbrite is top notch too, cree royal blue leds too.

They are currently working on a new controller that will allow for them to be dimmable, as well as integrate with an Apex controller.

Well that was the last word two years ago....

Thanks for the info. Its all very confusing. Definitely going too do more research.
I have a aquaticlife t5 8 bulb fixture now. Is an ATI fixture give me more par. Are they any better.
Was thinking of dropping too a 6 or 4 bulb ATI t5 and add two reefbrite led strips, or something simmilar.

Going from aquaticlife to ATI you will be get more par for sure. Do you at least have ATI bulbs in fixture now. I agree adding led can really make the colours pop!

I would like to see some comparison numbers on this.  We run the aquatic life 12 bulb on our coral tank and we get about 250 par near the bottom and 600 at the top level where I keep frags.  They are a really good unit and probably comparable.

Both really.

I run the stock bulbs that come with the aquaticlife fixture and all I ever hear is that ati is the cat's meow but is this just because someone is a really good salesperson and so its what everyone wants.

Very true. Unless someone does a non bias test. Who knows.

Ati fixtures do use a better than average reflector for their bulbs than most other fixtures.. Stick to your guns.. Go led. T5s are expensive to replace

I would say that both fixtures running the exact same bulbs at the same wattage will have a +/- of 25 or less par.

Go figure if that would be worth it really.

I would bet your way off with that number. The reflectors make a huge difference from what I've read..

But that is the thing, how MUCH better is the ATI vs. Aquaticlife that he has already?

He doesn't have some crappy homedepot mix mash DIY T5HO setup, he has a decent one already.

Also is it really worth the money to upgrade for that gain?
