DC variable speed signal

Anyone have a DC variable speed pump and is comfortable enough with a multimeter to test the signal from the variable speed line?

After unplugging the pump, looking at the waterproof connection wire from the controller, it should be the bottom (variable speed) and right (ground) that should read for the variable speeds.

Basically yes, or if they are 0-10v or whichever. I have seen the question all over the place, but no one ever has test results posted and the threads just die off without answers.

Complex question. Without knowing how the controller works it can give errors. Noise voltages may not be seen by your device (pump) as a PWM 10V, but they can be sensed by the voltmeter.

I think some people use a capacitor from ground to 10V PWM and measure that way (providing noise voltages are neglijable).

Theoretically you should read 0V at 0%, 10V at 100%, 5.6V at 56%, etc.

If the controller is not capable of providing 10V (i.e. 9.5V), then all the calculations are percentage of 9.5V. The trick here is that the PWM device will read correct values, because it will digitally filter 0-10V. The volmeter will read lower values corresponding to 9.5V.

There are numerous threads on reef central confirming the DC pumps work, most are on the reef angel controller but since it's the same cables u can buy online yu are good to go

My search abilities are hindered tonight. I can not seem to find anything that says ya or nay to 0-5v on reefcentral. Then again, I have been up for 30 hours at this point.

15 pages of reading.. but theres many many confirmed cases, and the cables you buy from their store say they are good to go, waveline jaebo diablo.. all the pumps that are the same but just rebadged, a dc12000 would be the ultimate closed loop pump being controlled by an apex..
