Decapitated

So I have noticed three of my clown fish missing. I was doing water change and cleaning the sand and this is what popped up from under a rock. Decapitated clown fish head. Water is all good . I'm wondering if my magnificent anemone is eating them and I noticed my other clownfish was bulling them so I put them in another tank. This is a mystery and I do feed my anemone . Not a happy camper . Any idea who is killing my fish

Wow sorry to hear... I recently lost some.... so what's more likely is that you CUC was cleaning up the carcass of the fish that's probably why u only found the head.

How many clowns did you have in your tank? More than 2 is hard to keep.
I have 5 in my tank and no issues. Platinum I have had for over 2 years, 2 Tomato clowns I have had over a year and finally 2 Midnight Black clowns for under a year. no one bothers anyone. the 2 pairs and the lone platinum. But I have no Anemones in the tank. Lost the one about 2 months ago.

Well that goes against everything I have read and what I experienced. Glad it works for you!

Multiple fish of the same species NORMALLY doesn't work, ( it's a good rule of thumb) you can work around it, such as add 3 yellow tangs in a big enough tank at the same time etc etc.
Same with clowns... I echo the other posts in this thread, it most likely died some other way and the cuc did its job.
Bristle worms, hermits, even other fish will nip away at a carcass.

By the sounds of it they were bullied to death. Once cleanup crew gets at the carcass all that's left is the head usually because they can't eat the skull. The rest of the bones are thin cartilage and consumed easy. I know my conch can make a 3" damsel carcass disappear in a day and all I find is the skull

Agree with Steve....if the Nem ate it, all bones that you would find would be stripped of all digestible skin and flesh and covered in slimy Nem poop.
