Yes part of the seahorse family
Prefers low flow setups with peaceful tank mates
Generally eat tiny sized foods like copepods so you will need a sump or refugium to propagate live foods
Can be trained to eat friends foods such as cyclops

I keep them in all my reefs and tables, they are great scavengers of bugs and are known to eat red bugs as well. They are fairly hardy fish and are great to watch as a bonded pair as they always stay together.

Seahorses and pipefish can take a lot more flow than most people think. They do need some quiet areas to rest though. The biggest issue with pipefish is that often times they are not True captive bred (bred and raised in an aquarium environment with no contact with ocean water) and can have parasites/diseases from the ocean that don't bother them in the ocean but can bother them in an enclosed aquarium environment. When you get some that are hardy like Dave has they are a wonderful fish to have. Their markings are truly wonderful.

I have a 20 that I'm going to use for frags and quarintine eventually and I'll get some pipefish. Too small for seahorses. Maybe you need another tank?
