So I was downstairs tinkering with my tank when I accidentally turned off my return pump which is a mag 24 BTW.
I turned it back on as I have done numerous times in the past and went about my business. I went back upstairs and I noticed my water line was visible when looking at the tank. I'm thinking no big deal and went back downstairs to check on the return....
It wasn't working. I plugged it into different outlets, and nothing.... I can feel it buzzing, so I tore it apart and tried cleaning everything and I noticed a huge crack in the magnet running the length of the shaft. It didn't look new as there was some sludge in there so I reassembled it and still nothing.
I'm now sitting here freaking out at 330 am. I have no return on my tank, and I'm not sure how long I have. My sump can easily handle the overflow from the display but I need to find a replacement mag 24 quickly. Long shot here but does anyone have one I can borrow for a few days till I get a new one brought in? I don't want to risk hooking up a smaller mag and burning it out as there is quite a bit of head height to deal with. Any emergency bandaid suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... I might take this opportunity to have my tank drilled properly and have an external pump installed, but I need a fix that can buy me some time.... fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhh....
