Ok guys and gals. Question. Maybe some have knowledge of this.

So with my fire. The one tank had eggcrate on top and two light hoods that caught fire, melted and dripped into and on live rock. This water was then being circulated thru my DT. At some point during the fire it looks like tank got hot enough to break the glass and then dump the 75 gal heavily contaminated water on my floor and then continue to drain the sump until DT tank hit its minimum level of return. So now that I have most of the mess partially cleaned up. Btw a huge thank you goes out to Sunnykita for coming over today with those enjo products. What should I be doing wih the remaining water in my system? I know as many water changes as soon as I can. But I also have to get my rodi system and salt mix system back up and running as it was contaminated as well so that will be later. But for now I just fired up some carbon. Is there anything else I should do?

IMO... If everything looks okay, just get back to your normal maintenance.

The tank have been shocked, and there is bacteria level adjustments going on to deal with it. If you start getting crazy with water changes, huge carbon/phos removers etc, you will be forcing more changes.

If you see the need to do water changes more frequently (debris that doesnt look right) then yeah. But beyond that, i would go back to what you were doing, and keep an eye on it.

you are soo right, good quick thinking and wonderful neighbours. thank god they were there..
I have always thought that volunteer fire depts. are sometimes better that city ones, no offence to any fire fighters out there..
I would agree volunteers are better but that's usually because we know everyone in our area but full time fire fighter are good too lol

My torch and frogspawn not looking good right now. Might see how they look by Saturday and bring me with me for someone to try and rescue. Looks like my tank only wants to grow softies. I lost all my nice bright orange Yuma shrooms so I'm hoping someone can hook me up again.

O man that's bad, This should be an eye opener to all of us that electricity and water don't mix well, check those cords and get rid of the ones that don't measure up.I'd soak all that rock in RO water for awhile.

Ok guys. I know we have 3 or 4 local guys on here that have stores. I am looking for some quote for my insurance claim. If anyone would like to offer a quote feel free to pm me and I'll get you some details. But basicly 2 stands, one tank, live rock, some fish and some corals.

Thanks

Actually I think this might be a good thing for the tank! It looks better then ever? Dunno why maybe it's the heavy dossing carbon or maybe it was the addition of pollutants? Not sure why
