Food Additive Vs Coral Food

I've been looking at getting a couple new items to help with feeding. Not that I'm having problems but just to add some extra nutrition to the tank. One is Selcon which is a food additive to help with fatty acids and vitamins. And the other is Oyster Feast to help with coral growth.

I realize that they have different purposes but was wondering if one would be more beneficial to use than the other. I wasn't really planning on getting both. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks ... Dave. :)

I make my own food and add selcon to it and 3 times a week I add reef chili to the tank...are you more confused now...IMHO, I believe that the selcon is vitamins in general and the reef chili is designed just for corals...

Yes I'm very confused. There are so many different foods/additives for different things.

I recently made my own mush too. I used several frozen foods including LRS Fish Eggs and some Reef Roids as well as frozen shrimp and scallop. I blended it up fairly fine as well hoping it would be good for corals and the dragonet. Although I read that the Oyster Feast was used for feeding corals including SPS. So I'm still a bit confused whether to get the vitamin enhancement or the coral food?

Actually ... I just noticed that the LRS Reef Frenzy contains two Oyster ingredients. (Reef Frenzy is one of the foods I added to the mush.)

Fresh Wild Caught Scallop
Fresh Wild Caught, Hand Peeled Shrimp
Fresh Wild Caught Ocean Perch and Whitefish
Premium Piscine Energetics Mysis Shrimp
Squid
Euphausia pacifica krill
Fresh Shucked Oysters and Clams
Zooplankton and Rotifers
Seaweed (Porphyra)
Blanched Broccoli Flowers (Rich in Vit A&D)
Oyster Eggs and Ovarian Tissue
Highly Unsaturated Fatty Acids
Buffered ascorbic acid added as an antioxidant
D. salina algae (Beta carotene to boost pigmentation, immunity)
LRS Probiotics

So I guess it would be rather pointless to get Oyster Feast as well. So maybe I'll just get the Selcon for added nutrients to soak the food in. :)
