Frag Tank Questions

So I have a couple questions in regarding a frag tank build and would like others opinions. So when it comes to placement of rack how far from the surface of water should the frag rack be? How about sand in the bottom... does that really matter? Thanks everyone

Where ever you like, but also depends on the coral, as some need more light, and no sand just makes things messy

Agreed, no sand. With hands going in the tank, the flow will just make a mess. I prefer at least 6" tanks for frag tanks to allow for sps or wavey shit

Keep it basic and lots of water changes and you will never have a problem.
