I was given a beautiful red monti last weekend, I had to move it because my orange/gold ricordia's started growing on it and my damsel has decided that I should have moved it and doesn't like where I put it, can I glue it to a rock and if so what kind of glue do I use...

Yup no problems gluing it your rock or even overflow or glass( ive never had luck with this tho the glue always lets loose before it encrusts to the glass) i just use the dollar store gel superglue, or thick gel superglue. I cant remember what its called now.

Eco tech glue.

I believe unibob has this glue in stock. I think most of the frag guys at the shows use this stuff. I think they had it for sale there.

I've often wondered this... so far I haven't read a convincing arguement as to why the "coral glue" cyanoacrylate is any different from any other cyanoacrylate glue, or of any adverse issues from using plain old cyanoacrylate, so I've always just used the dollar store gel.

edit...
if greater support is needed I also use Two Little Fishes Aquastik epoxy, it creates a nice base to attach the frag to.

I use the technique described by Vivid Aquariums

Cyanoacrylate Accelerator (also called kicker) can be purchased at RC model hobby shops (at least that's where I've always gotten it). It's incredibly useful stuff as it cures the glue instantaneously, no need to sit there holding pieces together waiting for the glue to set.

...it can get a foam airplane that's just been 'lawn darted' back in the air in mere minutes ;) ...don't ask how I know lol

...full disclosure ... I haven't used 'kicker' in my reef tank, you might want to consider SW specific accelerator as i'm not sure what chemicals are in it. I've heard baking soda does the trick as well though.

I am limited what is available to me here, only a small lfs and there is not a lot of demand for sw so, things are not readily available.. what about anti fungal nail glue, it is not water soluble, has anyone used that . maybe Kevin cane chime in as that's his line of work...

I'd stay away from anything not labelled 'cyanoacrylate', or SW specific epoxy... I believe CA is even safe to use for closing cuts and wounds on our own skin

Lol. I thought you were referring to a product called liquid nail which is a construction grade adhesive used to hold on big sheets of plywood 2 walls lol I got worried. I can't speak for the 'toe nail glue' ... but I'm still fairly certain it would be better than liquid nail haha
