Hey guys. Just looking at options.  What is the best idea.  For keeping the tank going when there is no one home for a few days. .....like feeding amd filtering.....b4 I got my sump I was using a hob aqua clear filter.  That had just a pipe into tank ...I'd prolly shut down my sump.  ...I don't have a ATO setup... So will a aqua aler hob filter  With bags of what will yu use. ...and let if run for the few days. Shut down my sump.  And will yu shut down the skimmer to or leave skimmer going ?but the water will not be running back and forth to tank

I throw an automatic feeder over the tank and walk away. I can go away for 4 days and not have to worry about the top off.  The thing you need to find out is " What will happen with the power going off and coming back on?"  IF the answer is the tank overflows then you need to change something :)
I have a little more peace of mind with the APEX on the system.

Ya but with a aqua filter yu get at petsmart  like I had for 6 months.  B4 I setup my sump will work  like just use that and shut down my sump setup  I I have a pump running the reactor with gfo  that I could keep or running in the sump so the water in the sump is recirculating and just get a auto feeder
