In my 75 gal tank I have noticed that there are sponges (?) growing. They kind of look like little pineapples and are about 1/2 to 3/4" long. I have never seen this type of sponge before and I do know that sponges are a good thing but, I have never seen this type before.. opinions please..

From what I remember, these filter feeders are not bad. I had a bunch of them pop up within the first 4 or 5 months of me starting up a new tank. They were growing all over my sump in high flow areas. Their numbers seemed to decrease overtime, but I still have a few.

ya they appear before most be glad you have them.... if you get too many in your dt just transfer them to the sump but remember to keep them submerged exposure to air will kill them.
