Halimeda algae...good or bad

I have some halimeda algae in the my sump it has been slowly growing but nothing crazy. I just did some reading on it and I guess it is eating up some of the calcium I dose. Should I remove it or does it have some benefits

Remove it i had some in my previous tank and it started growing out of control sprouting up everywhere in the tank. and once it gets in the rock it usually just grows right back  . Had to bleach some of my rock to eventually kill it.

Got rid of it. Rock and all. Thanks for the help gents
