Heaters. What To Choose

i have an apex and want to get new heaters, since mine are 7-8 years old.

Titanium? Eheim? OTHER?

IMO, if you are going to use your controller for you tank heat, might as well just use a
Titanium heating rod. Go with a 500w.
Just my 0.02$ worth here bud.

I use a Finnex titanium 300w with it's own controller AND the apex on my 75g. Redundancy. Worth the extra cost, to me.

Ya I have seen a few hot water heater systems and they are ideal if you can do some simple plumbing and have the apex or similar for control. Trying to figure out a possible stand alone system that utilizes my wood stove and can add that heat to the far side of the house thru a radiator.
