oh oh, looks like salt stuck to the fish? do you have a tank you can set up to treat in? I see you were looking for one already running. Best of luck, fingers and paws crossed here that they survive

It could be a coincidence in a sense Steve,
If for example, your jaw fish was sucked into a powerhead or whatever the cause , it could have some how stressed the other fish therefore causing ich,

So I wouldn't immediately rule that the jaw fish has ick- because ich doesn't maim the fish that bad in a couple of hours.
Something is missing from the puzzle, and that something is- What happened to the jaw fish.

In really hope you can save everything :( it sucks too lose fish

I agree with Brandon. Ich doesn't cause that kind of rapid damage, velvet can seem to because it is invisible until the late stages.

Rapid fin loss is often a sign of ammonia poisoning or chlorine exposure. Could anything have triggered a cycle in your system? That would damage the others but not affect the clowns....

The Jawfish is a burrower so aggression would just make him hide in his tunnel and his tail would be protected most of the time....

what are your water parameters like ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, carbonate hardness and ph... how often do you test, have you had any spikes and do you use any garlic additives or stress zyme or stress coat..... it sounds as if its been stressed for a while and finally become too much if your parameters are good my next guess would be those clowns are breeding...... every body of water will have ich even our tanks with no symptoms, ich becomes a problem when fish are stressed and lose their slime coat that normally protects them. And copper only kills free floating stage of most parasites

I would be interested in knowing a reef safe ich treatment, never had ich and don't want it but it would be good to know for further reference.
