I've heard these stories before, but finally have one of my own.
In November, I bought a clown and a yellow watchman goby (ywg) for my nano. Acclimated them and they both looked good in there. After the first hour, I didn't see the ywg, but I figured he was just hiding. After a week, I figured he was just really shy. After 3 weeks, I figured he'd bought the farm
and the clean up crew had taken care of him.
Well, I was doing a water change yesterday, and noticed a shadow in the sump area - I assumed it was a sponge or something and the shadow moved ???. It was awfully hard to see, but I grabbed a flashlight, and sure enough, 3 months later, my ywg had somehow gotten into the back chambers ;D. Took me forever to catch him - looks pretty skinny but OK.
NO IDEA how he got back there - must have jumped the barrier when I had the lid up?
