So leafs are out, done.  10th place in the east, 2 spots out of a playoff spot, tied with 4 other teams, and a few games ahead of most of those.

I will officially stop picking on them (again) since I don't kick a guy when he's down.

Oh that's rough, damn Russian gets injured to much

That's probably a good thing that he is off 2 - 3 weeks. I bet the injury isn't that bad and they really just want him to rest for the playoffs. Resting players or putting them on DTD at this stage of the season, for the top teams anyways, is a smart tactic because everyone knows how grueling the playoffs are. Get them back a week before playoffs start to get their speed up again and go.

lol. I think they can pretty much sleep walk into the playoffs.  ;)

I watched that whole Montreal / Boston game and that would be an awesome series! That is a definite rivarly. I just hope Subban gets his block knocked off if that were to happen. What a poor excuse of a play that was to agitate a fight then act like a child crying for their mommy all after sucker punching someone in the head.... That's his game though.

Also, I wonder who Toronto is going to select in this years draft in that highly coveted 12th spot???  ;D Hey, at least they gave you fans just enough hope once again to keep you holding on again next year when the team will "definitely" be a Stanley cup competitor once again.

Maybe they will find a way to trade Phaneuf... He had a monster game last night. Nothing like having all the time in the world with the puck in your zone, on a penalty kill, fake shot TWICE (instead of just clearing it) to only have it stripped away, ending in a PP goal with just over 30 seconds in the first period... Still doesn't beat his head shot to JVR though. That is an all time classic now.

Coach julien made a statement about how pissed he was at how poorly the bruins fell for all the shit during the frenchie game.  The hip check on lucic was fine, chara didn't need to go after him, subban is just a GOOF so they should know better (I thought boychuk was going to get a few games for grabbing him, thank GOD subban actually leaned back to give him another shot and it got caught on film).  It's a great rivalry and he's a great coach, not showing anything while the game was on, not screaming at his players on the bench, but he gave them an earful in the dressing room.  The canadienz play dirty against the bruins, it's known, but they also win doing that, they're a fast tiny team, not to be trifled with. At least lucic got in the sack job at the end of the game, that was awesome.  Best of all, marchand got deeper under THEIR skin.  So that was good.  You should have read some of the online comments from fans on each side.  The bruins fans were of course PISSED the frenchies wrecked our streak, and the habs fans thought they just won the cup.  Very good rivalry indeed but I do not want us to play them in the playoffs.  :)

As for leafs I'm officially done with commentary unless they get back in the running.

I cant remember if I asked this already...

What are the leaf fans gonna do with that Stanley Cup parade they planned back in October?

Poseidon, Im starting to think SaltyCracker might be right about changing teams...just saying. That said, I started cheering for the Jays last year, AFTER they defecated in the bed.

If MORE  "fans" of the maple laffs told them to go eff themselves because they haven't made the playoffs in a decade (last year was obviously a fluke since it was a half season and they didn't have a chance to get the leaf slump), and HAVEN'T won a cup for FOURTY SEVEN years, but have raised ticket and beer prices almost every one of those years....

THEN MAYBE they would work at fixing the team and making a real run at a cup.  Seriously, get some depth, don't rely on a trick goaltender. don't equate shootout wins with REAL wins.  Don't have one or maybe two star players.  It's insane a team like this can get $1000+ for lower level seats during an 8 game slide.  There's no reason to ever win a cup, because STUPID fans are "fans for life".  Eff that, I can give you say 40 YEARS to produce, but after that, you might have to expect some people to start rooting for another team.  Sour grapes.

Baseball starts Monday so I wont have to worry about missing any baseball games due to playoff hockey. Go Leafs Go

I'm sure this is Toronto's year to in the pennant.  Probably a .500 team by the allstar break for sure.

No worries, still living in 92/93. Got another 20ish years to team build before choosing a new team.

I feel bad for the leafs fans. I mean salty and I seen this coming in October, when they started setting up the parade.

Looking like it may be Penguins vs Wings ... I think I may be attending a game if that's the way it works out
