Actually, it's a history lesson.  For 47 years the leafs have gotten fans all juiced up, and then slid to nothing.  I mean, if something happens for 2 years, it's a slump, 5 years it's troubling, 10 years it's time for a change, 20 years it's a trend, but at at half a century, it's an etched in stone fact that they choke, suck, dive, or whatever you want to call it.  It's not hatred I have for them, it's anger.  40 years of not \"getting the joke\".

Once you step away from them you see that they do the same things, year after year after year.... and just when they get someone in place that might actually make a change, they fire him, the coach, the owners, etc.  because the toronto press started the \"it's the coaching staff's fault\" bullshit.  It will happen this year too, you watch, they'll end up in 10th place, not make the playoffs and then GM and coach will be replaced and it's another \"rebuilding year\".  You're what, 14?  Talk to me thirty years from now when they're when you're 44 and if you're still burning that candle, well then hats off to you.  Until then, you're just one of the misled that follows a team based purely on geography.

Funny thing, on TSN tonight, paul maurice picked the bruins to win the cup.  I always liked that guy.  :)

Leafs didn't hype anyone up genius, the media did and you obviously were easily convinced.

If you weren't happy you could've switch year two, instead of year 46,
So you hate the leafs because the TO media hyped them up and they didn't perform how the media portrayed ?
( media still does it, makes all the real leafs mad)

I don't see a scenario were your still not at fault for your own issues lol

An amateur goalie, first NHL shoot out, shuts down every leaf that steps up . That's gotta be embarrassing. Oh and that's after they gave up a 4-1 lead. :) ... Ill be here all day. And sitting cold in net for 2 periods.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Albert Einstein

After 40+ years, I got therapy.  You're still in the infant years Brandon, but you'll learn.

Bigshow.  You're a real ass, you know?  :)

That Detroit vs. Bruins game was bitter sweet for me... On one hand, Wings are my team so I am happy they tore the Bruins a part. On the other hand, I have Rask on my Fantasy hockey team and he killed me last night!! I have Howard on my team as well, but, he only plays in games where Detroit loses.  :?

Rask was definitely off last night, you must be doing fairly well with him so far this year, he's saving bacon back there for sure.

Honestly sometimes a team needs a kick in the short and curlies to get going.  At least we lost to a worthy team, I'd hate to lose like that to buffalo.

They are famous for their 4-1 lead blowing.  Normally they wait until the last 8 minutes to do it though. ;)

PS.  Brandon:  It's not the media.  How many times did you hear "We're #1 in the east!!!! This is our year!!!!  Start the parade!!!!" when the leafs were in first place (I know hard to remember back to september).  Leaf fans do it to themselves, the media just gives em what they want.  Burke was on his way to building a very decent team, and when the brass saw it, they fired him.  You just don't get it, they never ever ever ever want to win the cup.  I have no idea why, but every time they get a piece that fits, they trade it away.  Every year.  They pay too much for a player (kessel anyone) and have to trade away all the lower paid players that are producing, just to get draft picks back.  It's insane.

Except for last night, Rask is 10000x better than either reimer or Bernier, and the leafs traded him for nothing.  for NOTHING.

You're a good kid, I just want to save you the many many sad days and heartache I experienced, before you're old and broken like I am :)  Listen to your elders, dumbass.

Hmm, 1st in the east, and only 4 points out of tying for first overall, and 1 point behind the 'unstoppable' san jose.  Feeling pretty good about my massacred team.  Now I get to sit back with a beer and watch san jose.  Wasn't going to, but sure am now.  Black friday indeed.  BLACK AND GOLD FRIDAY!

Oh and gotta love a gordie howe hat trick just to keep it fun.

No, ours is black and gold, yours is black yellow and white, like a penguin.  In fact, it's White, black and orange:

You learn something every day.  The penguins weaseled their way into the black and gold from the blue and white they were:

The Penguins began the 1980s by changing their team colors. In January 1980, the team switched from wearing blue and white to their present-day scheme of black and gold to honor Pittsburgh's other sports teams, the Pirates and the Steelers, as well as the Flag of Pittsburgh. Both the Pirates and Steelers had worn black and gold for decades, and both were fresh off world championship seasons at that time. The Bruins protested this color change, claiming a monopoly on black and gold, but the Penguins defended their choice by stating that the NHL Pirates also used black and gold as their team colors, and that that black and gold were Pittsburgh's traditional sporting colors. The NHL agreed, and Pittsburgh was allowed to use black and gold. The Penguins officially debuted wearing black and gold against the St. Louis Blues at the Civic Arena on January 30, 1980.

Don't see a penguin here either:

I would rather the blues, that's my colour. I knew all that already, just harassing ya.

By the way I don't see any orange on that penguin. Black, gold, white.

Put yer glasses on grandpa, that's orange if I ever did see it. :)

Talk about embarrassing though, look at the nationalities of the leaf players.  I know a few years back they got blasted for having the least number of Canadian players of any NHL team, I thought they had worked on fixing it, but evidently not.
