Tonight should be interesting.  Carolina tanked last night, so leafs are dangling by a thread for a playoff dream.  As my buddy just said "they seem to play better against really good teams so maybe they will win tonight".  That gave me a chuckle

Meh we didn't do anything special, Boston just played like crap and rask is cold. To bad the whole team relies on him haha.

I watched the game with my leaf buddy.  He didn't enjoy the game at all.  Right up to the last minute he was "we're going to blow this, we're going to lose this, no way we're going to win".  At the end he said "oh wow, now I can breath easy" and the announcer came on and said "now leaf fans can breathe easy" and it was hilarious (true story!!).  If you thought that the leafs played well (or at all) for the last 20 mins you are crazy.  We lost, but don't act like you were thrilled with the way your 'team' broke down in the third. Let's just see if you can hold on to that last playoff spot, because that's all leaf fans dream about....MAKING the playoffs

[/quote]As much as I am a Leafs Fan. Chara is a BEAST and if he was on the Leafs you would only sing his praises.

Chara is 36 now and I believe he is still in his prime.  I also believe Phaneuf has not hit his prime yet. Defencemen don't really excel in this league till they are about 30.

At this time I would much rather have Chara on my team than Phaneuf.  Chara is a proven leader that has taken his team to the championship 3-4 times in the last decade. Phaneuf not so much, but give Phaneuf three more years to mature as the leafs captain and he will be a beast.

Phaneuf couldn't even crack the Olympic Roster that has one of the weaker defensive cores in the past 20 years.

Any other leaf fan I know hates Phaneaf, that C needs to be handed over to Lupul, someone who shows up to play every game.

Actually phaneuf is one of the most disliked players in the league.  Giving him the "C" after such a stretch was just another example of WAT?  I'd love to meet his some day just to see if he's as unlikable in person.
