Burke takes losing teams and makes them winning teams, his record speaks for itself. I didn't quite follow the line brawl last night, but I don't know as if you can blame burke for what BOTH coaches did.
I said it before, the leafs may have had a cup ready team if they kept burke, and you watch, calgary will finally become a cup contender again with him.
One reason I don't mind him at all.... pre-burke the leafs were 90% US and EU players. After he was done with them, they were 80% CAN players, and making the playoffs. They fire him and slip back into their old ways of paying WAAAAAY too much for soso players. Personally, I'm glad he's in the western conference now, less impact on my team.
Lastly, the 'fighting in the game' thing. As long as sports like MMA and boxing are legal, it will be legal to have fighting in the game. As long as the players AND he fans want fighting in hockey there will be fighting. If the owners started seeing an actual loss in revenue over injuries due to fighting that might be another story, but until then they will keep counting their money and letting 'em fight. The worst that will happen might be another crackdown on enforcers.
Tort needs to go to the psych ward for some quiet time. It's just a game guy, and you likely won't be coach long anyway, so settle down.
