Re: question of the day

my skimmer is in the same section as the filter sock comming from display and is allways the same depth water on or off, you can put your skimmer on whatever you could safely put in your tank (mine is on marble peices) and i dont turn anything off, except for water changes and then i turn it all off.,. and its all set up so it starts and stops with no overflowing or loss of return suction ( i use an overflow box) during power on/off..., bubbles go down when i feed...

question of the day

Having a basement sump means there is a tin if water in transit all the time.  So when the power goes out my sump fills up completely . Water level goes up 6 inches.  First time I never had the skimmer programmed and I turned the pump off made a bug mess.  My skimmer is delayed 45 sec after the pump starts now.  And if the main pump gets turned off so does the skimmer.

I have a float switch on the skimmer.  Water level gets high and the skimmer kicks off and it emails me. :)
