APR?  Heh, I don't even fall for the idea that I'm paying 0% on my vehicle.  I had my lawyer buddy try to explain APR financing once, all I took away from the conversation was "it's not 0%".  I should have my actuarial science buddy explain it to me some day when I'm not drinking :)

In ontario all dealerships are mandated by OMVIC regulations to state the "cost of borrowing" which will be the total costs incurred in signing into the finance agreement. This can be circumvented I believe by applying a dealer side fee for whatever or what not and calling it something stupid. We are forced to be much more transparent when it comes to details like this nowadays, as many people still have sour tastes in their mouths from the 80's - 90's when they got a raw deal perhaps. I know on our contracts every dollar is accounted for and laid out very clearly to avoid scenarios like that.

Heh, yeah, but the contract is 14 pages long.  You would think of all people I would know to read contracts and fine print ;)

Ours is 3 pages.

Oh yes, but yours is 27 inches wide to fit all the zeros on the end of the monthly payment.

(can you tell I'm a little bitter about not getting that diesel suv?)  :)    He said he had a nice 1987 model in my price range.
