how to kill purple star polips?????

hey guy any one know how to kill purple star polyps without killing everything else ??? got these and now they are taking over on every rock and covering zoas and other corals this is worse than exinia

I got a clown triggerfish at the LFS that really really likes star polpys just a though lol

Strange they should grow on a leathery mat that just peels off like a skin. Sure there might be some cling-ons but once they get large enough you just pick them off too..I never had any luck growing them or xenia. I got a frag from Rick that is the exact same size as when I got it from him and that was mabye 2 years ago now.

really wow ya they grow like wild fire for me but these don't grow in a mat there all small ind polyps by the thousands

That sucks... I have no clue what else you could do other than take the rock out and kill everything. I wonder if the same treatment for aipstasia would do anything (Nice Hot vinegar injection).....I wonder what others think.....

i kinda like the looks of the stuff as does my clown trigger,i will swap you rock for rock , ill even guarantee pest and such growth free with eco rock

that is a great offer pulp but took me 2 months to get the rock exactly how i wanted it and about 2 years to find the exact peaces i wanted thanks though

I'm guessing that a kalkwasser paste would kill them but you need to monitor your PH etc.  Just like Joes Juice.  I use it to kill polyps that are bothering things.  EG Yellow polyps growing on a clam.
