a 15 minute Fresh water dip didn't hurt mine.  Zoas were fine with it.  Some are exposed at low tide.  I'm sure they get natural fresh water dips from time to time.

I think I may have found a natural solution.  I have some sponges growing in my sump.  I've noticed that my limpets are eating it.  I'm going to try putting some limpets on the rock, if I can get them to stay.  Hopefully they'll eat it.  Any thoughts on this?

I couldn't get the limpets to land on the zoa rock.  I just noticed that I lost about half of my metallic pink zoas too, so I did a peroxide dip on both.  Fingers crossed.
It sucks - these were my first corals.

I'll keep you posted.

It worked for my Zoas. The bubbling kind of made me a little nervous. But they all recovered fine

I have used it for cotton candy algae. Will have to try with sponges.

Vinegar worked for me. I just used a tiny amount , pulled out the frag, dried it off a bit, took vinegar and put a little here Nd there on the sponge let it soak it up for about an hour. Placed in a bowl of tank water to rinse off, placed back into the tank after roughly an hour and half .

Shit, that's one of 100000. That's my next battle. Then bubble algae. My whole back corner the sand bed is filled with them. That's what happened after I used aptasia x . They exploded into thousands more

Miss Daphne Tang is waiting for you here. She eats bubble algae. Problem is my girlfriend named her, so she said $1000 is what she costs.
