As it was said earlier, chlorine will dissipate within 24 hours. I do recommend you wear rubber gloves when using bleach. Even diluted as your skin absorbs large quantities of chlorine, and chlorine is carcinogenic.

Just as a point regarding chlorine testing ( we do this for customers ).

- take two equal sized cups and put about 2" of water in them.
- put 2-3 drops of chlorine in each.
- using a pool test kit put about 6-10 drops in first cup, until yellow.
- put 2 fingers in second cup and circle them slowly for 3 seconds.
- remove fingers, and add same # of drops from test kit.
- observe no yellow indicator. Your skin absorbed all the chlorine.

Makes me not want to shower with city water. I have chlorine removal for my whole house. And.... if you look at cancer rates since the 1950's to present they correspond to the rates of chlorinated water we drink, bathe, and swim in. Obviously medical science identifies disease cause and treatment better these days. So taking that into consideration, and we still have a huge increase in cancer rates since the introduction of chlorinated water supplies.
Oh and of interest to marine junkies if you add electricity in the correct amount to salt water it creates chlorine. ie. lightning strikes in the ocean, and chlorine generation facilities.

Chlorine is basic and is neutralized by acids, it is also an oxidizer that reacts with bacteria, just because the chlorine is no longer present that doesn't mean it was totally absorbed by your skin. There are a lot of things that have changed since the 50's that have an affect on cancer rates and 1 of those is diet, we eat too much processed junk food. I work with people in the aquatics industry and they have been swimming almost daily in chlorinated water for 30 years and they don't have cancer. Water chlorination has saved countless millions of lives over the decades. I believe there is a lot of fear mongering going on by people and companies who manufacture and sell chlorine removal equipment to bolster their sales. Obviously it is a good idea to avoid

Not sure what happened but I hit a button and it posted what I had and wouldn't let me edit, my stupid laptop does all kinds of weird things anymore and I was too tired to finish it anyway.

I agree with the diet and the sales angle too. I just don't trust any chemicals. Going au natural is the best.
