So I was looking at my tank today and I noticed that I have a couple of cracks in the plastic rims on the top and bottom of my tank. Is this something I should worry about? I will try to post one of the pictures of the crack

it would worry me as well, the trim is there for a reason other than looks,, IMHO... when I did the sump on my big tank the center brace had to be cut out for the skimmer...I watched it very closely to see if anything happened to the tank like bowing out...

I had a 110g tall years ago. I broke the single crossbrace it had by accident. No problems for the year I had it runnng. I sold the tank to a buddy and I know it is fine to this day (going on about 4 years now). Hard to say how much purpose the thin plastic braces actually serve.

When I first got my 46 gallon the top brace was loose... when the water filled up it went really tight. I think it was meant for support but I would really doubt it was meant to keep the tank together... I'd just keep an eye on it

If it's cracked the top brace, you need to look closer. If the tank is 24" tall or less with 1/2" or better glass you may be ok.

You can order new top trim and just install new trim
