Installed a drain in my floor of the utility room, which is where I make and mix all my water and is right next to my tank. It's been more that once where I was filling up a bottle of rodi and forgot about it. Now a have a safety net, it hooks into my eaves trough drain. Drilled one of the holes larger so now the siphon hose for water changes fits into it perfectly. Yeah, no more buckets!

Looks good! This has happened to me way too many times! Gotta get the float switches installed asap. Drain nearby is better but at least a float switch.

I thought I was the only one.

Fully refinished my old basement, turned on ro/di to fill a tank, forgot it for the night.... needless to say, we had to rip out the entire floor in the basement and cut the bottom inch off half of the dry wall.
Very costly mistake.
After that I built a fully enclose rubber and cement trough system and never spilt another drop of water.
(Until the kitchen cabinet installers used self tapping screws to hang cabinet and drilled through protective plate and right through cold water line...
another story)

Cheap easy solution is to plug your rodi power into one of those cheap pin timers, figure out how long it takes to fill a bucket 15 min increments

Maybe I'm running my rodi wrong cause I don't have any power going to it??? I just have the hose that comes out of it go into a bucket. I dump that bucket into my top off reservoir.

I've never heard of power ones either but it must be the pumps they supercharge these new rodi units with. But I think the real problem lies with these old guys forgetting that they turned them on in the first place.

I have forgotten my fair share as well. Wife will not let me forget even one time. But then I started filling the bottles in my laundry tub so that when it over flows all is good. I still need a drain in my floor. I have had a few spills over the last year that this would have been crazy handy. My storage room is being redone with tax money, this is on the list.

Well I am glad to know that I am not the only one who forgets at least once every week I am making Rodi!
Bet I have the cleanest shop-vac around.

I feel like maybe one of those may have been my fault. I remember you getting "the call" that water was going everywhere when you were here helping me with the apex.

I think I should be offended.

Sorry? What are we talking about?
