Hey everyone
I know not a lot of you use kalk in your systems anymore. But personally I'm a firm believer in its advantages in a reef tank.
Just curious for those who still use it. If you've been able to find a suitable replacement for it locally.
There are many articles outlining that Mrs. Wages pickling lime is the best substitute. But unfortunately the FDA has banned the sale on pickling lime in Ontario.
I have found it on Amazon but I prefer to support local and not spend the ridiculous shipping costs.
Hydrated lime is also supposed to accomplish the same results. But purity is an issue if purchased from farm supply stores. I will be looking into local TSC stores.
Wondering if any of you have found a good replacement that can be acquired locally.
Thanks
