yeah, very sad, known Jerry since he was a teenager and following Terry around at the fish shows. Very sad indeed. I need to get to the store to see him before it closes.

Don't mean to throw a wet blanket on this, but I was in there 5-8 times, never bought anything, I thought 99$ for a bubble tip and 400$ for a PICASSO trigger was ridiculous , I went there with a friend more to laugh at the over priced merchandise than anything else.

Sorry to be 'mean' but I know a lot of ppl that would never go there

Not surprising. Way over priced and saltwater livestock never looked very healthy. I will say their cichlids, for the most part, were somewhat reasonably priced.

Each and every one of us are entitled to our opinions, no worries, say what you want to say, that's what the forum is for, sometimes the little guy just can't compete with the big box stores. Some times life throws us a curve ball as in shit happens. I also think be kind because you never know what someone else is going through. Jerry is a friend and even though I don't get to the store OR buy much there I feel bad that he is closing. Each and every store that closes affects someone. I posted it thinking that there might be some good deals on reduced equipment if anyone was looking. Have a great Sunday peeps !

His saltwater stuff was over priced compared to the online sources we have now. That's just the plight of the brick and mortar. Salt water wasn't his main focus.

I think the tropical fish room was the best store in Ontario for fresh water fish. He always had those hard to find fish that no other place sold.

Overpriced compared to any other store. Double, sometimes triple what things cost at Living Aquarium in cambridge for example. Yes, freshwater was a different story. Usually reasonable. I've got nothing against jerry. Decent guy and knows his stuff. I hate having to leave town for supplies and livestock! But i think the high prices may have led to the closing.

Jerry knows his freshwater stuff inside out, been a hobbyist since a teenager. I haven't talked to him in a while but I am always saddened when another LFS closes it's doors. Possibly he's just going a different direction in life. Will have to try to get to the store this week.

There wasn't much left yesterday. All his tanks are for sale though. Lots of frozen food left for 75 percent off.

good to know it's all going, that's one of the reasons I posted it, there will be some good prices on used tanks that should already be drilled. :) good for a fish room or sump - you never know what you might find !

I always stopped in when I passed through town and picked up a nice frag a bunch of times.

+1 on SW fish prices but they had surprisingly good frags for one low price so there were often cherries.to pick.

Being from the area the SW situation was lacking to my dismay. Did purchase my Hagan T5 system from them.

The area could use a SW situation as it is in the very triangle of KW/London/Hamilton.

Store fronts ARE very difficult in ANY business.

BUYING GROUPS PEOPLE!!

We have one right here.
