Letting Water sit in Buckets

Is there an advantage to let water sit in Buckets for a few days or more before mixing and doing water changes?

None that Incan think of.  But it does allow more opportunity for contaminates to get in the water. 

As soon as I make a water change I refill the garbage can and add salt.  And it sits for weeks until I use it.
