light above sump

What is the benefit too having a light above my sump.
Im putting live rock in the sump. Will this benefit in anyway.
I have a 36inch t5ho dual bulb i could run above it.

no benifit if your not running macro algae..
well i suppose you could see better in the sump lol

I have not been using a light above the sump  Then i put one of my reef brites in the stand. Then i was turning it on an all day. To see if it wilk raise my PH..  Butll it does is put algae all over my sump and skimmer and yjr clear hoses.  So i turn it off and use it when i need light......
