Anyone see any problems, or have suggestions about this light layout? The tank pic is with just the led bar on, so as far as "moonlighting" goes, I'm content. The 10w led floods are strictly for shimmer.

You would probably be fine running the inside ones and scrapping the ones going around the outside. If ur getting shaded spots id run a little led strip or something for colour pop.

Install them till u need 18"s and use led stunner strip, or RB strips or something instead. What are u planning on growing in there??
I've already got two 36", two 24" should be arriving this week. What's a good source for stunner strips? I know all too well not all leds are created equal! Not 100% sure what I'll be growing. Would like sps to be a possibility at some point without having to change too much.

What are you planning to keep in here? SPS? And why lay them on an angle like that instead of just 36 inch tubes straight across? Seems unnecessarily complex.

This will be inside a canopy. Given the tank is in a corner, i will be hinging it in the middle (note hinge line in layouts), allowing easy access to both visible sides, as well as allowing me to mount lights directly to top of canopy.

I know leds create the best shimmer effect. My lights (t5) will likely be around 6-7" off the water. Given my tank is 36"x36", what type/quantity (strip, flood, spot) of leds should I be looking at? Keeping in mind my t5s will take care of actually lighting the tank.
