I have a newly set up 40 gallons Fusion tank. It has a marco dry rock and live sand. It has been cycling with Dr tIms for 8 days now.

I am planning to get 2 Blue Dartfish Ptereleotris heteroptera to start with right now. In the future, can I add different kinds of Dartfishes such as purple firefish or magnifica firefish? Will they be aggressive toward different kinds of dartfish/firefish?

Also, I want to get Astrea snails to start with. Do I add the snails after some time lets say a week, or do I add them at the same time with the firefish?

I am being extra conservative right now since it is really new tank and I don't want to risk to kill a lot of fish lol

Which fishes or live stocks should I start with and how many according to your opinion?

I am following Dr tims steps and it says day #9 to add fish. Probably just a couple of fish. However, I am planning to hold out until at least 2 weeks, and just keep monitoring the ammonia, Nitrate and Nitrite level right now.

What's the benefit of putting them into a QT tank first on a brand new empty DT tank? Are you suggesting to medicate them first in QT tank first before putting them into DT tank?

if you get pests in your DT then you'll be 75 days until you can add live stock again. having the fish in a qt tank means that you can ensure their healthy and eating. and if you have to medicate then you are able too without worrying about the live rock and sand absorbing the medication. @Poseidon used a diffrent type of medication on his tank and he's the guinea pig test for these meds.

ghost feed in small pinch once a day is enough? Is there a food type restrictions or recommendations? Can I use cheap tetra flake for fresh water fish?
