PhosBan Media Reactor 550 by Two Little Fishies

The PhosBan Reactor 550 is designed with the upflow principle to achieve the most efficient use of PhosBan® or other chemical filter media. By pushing water from the bottom upward through a dispersion plate, it forces an even distribution of water through the media, and prevents channeling. It can be mounted hanging on the back of the aquarium or below the aquarium. Includes ball valve for regulating flow, and flexible connection fittings that rotate 180 degrees to allow a perfect custom fit to your installation. The threaded lid design makes servicing quick and easy. One reactor for aquariums up to 600 gallons.

I used a TLF150 and a TLF 550 for biopellets. i found that the 550 was better as all I had to do was mod it by removing the bottom red disk, then some plumbers tape to hold the down spout to the top section. The 550 has a curved bottom making for some great circulation of pellets. Here is the 550 vs the 150 with the same amount of pellets.

No problem, let me know if you need any help with the mod. The extra parts I provided really makes the pellets tumble well. Remember to start off slow with about 1/4 the recommended amount and observe for 4-6 weeks before making any changes

I used the same reef octopus for my bio pellets it's a true bio pellet reactor no mods needed. Has the funnel bottom already but I took it offline months ago. And it's sitting in the box I ran it off a manifold from my pump

For 149.99 CDN the Hydra Aquatics BioPellet Reactor is what I bought for my 300gal display. You have to be sure to Teflon tape all of the connectors but its actually a really nice unit considering the price. Using a penductor in the reaction chamber really assures you that there are no deadspots or clumping of pellets (something no other reactors use). If you would like I can post a video of it running to show you the fluidization I get with a compact eheim pump.

Nice looking reactor, I just watched a video on it. Seems good. For the life of me I can not recall what reactor I have running now. I got it from @Jewel a while ago and the name is alluding.
