I’m currently in Mexico and our beach has a tone of shelf rock that’s 1-2 feet long and super thin which makes it light.... guess what I’m bringing home

I’d declare it and be prepared to have it confiscated. Answer all the questions on the customs card honestly, and there won’t be consequences if you can’t bring it into Canada. Lie, and it becomes smuggling if you’re caught. I’ve been back and forth into the US numerous times with all kinds of reef hobby stuff, was able to bring Tonga Branch rock into Canada (back when you could still buy it from BRS) with no issues because it was calcareous rock. Good luck!
EDIT: But I have no clue how Mexico feels about having rock taken out of the country, so.....
