Considering I'm the only one in Canada with it (besides the two frags sold by MJC) and I can sti find $250 frags for sale online in the U.S. (which is what I paid) I think $20 frags in a few months is a bit of a dream.

I get that it would be a nice jesture. I have been very lucky, patient and persistant enough to grow out some nice colonies. But on the other hand i have to consider a few other things. Firstly i would like to mention that although i have a lot of nice thriving corals, ive lost my far share of expensive ones. Ive lost thousands in livestock over the years. Even when i purchase something like a $250 pectinia frag im not certain it will survive and do well. Any livestock purchase is a gamble somewhat. And then it takes years of care to grow out. Personally I think that if i was willing to take that risk and investment than someone else would. And if you dont than that is fine. I also think that i have given better deals in general to reefers than i ever got...definitely gave out way more freebies than i recieved in this hobby and im happy about that.
Another complication i have to think about is that i have given MJC the rights to all my corals and if i start giving away frags for $20 that would drastically reduce what those guys would be willing to give me for the mother. Plus it goes againt our agreement. Those guys love this hobby but are also trying to make a little money too and i dont think there is anythimg wrong with that. They are providing a service and product that people are happy with.

Sorry guys I didn't mean to make it sound rude, I was more or less poking fun at the comments in the reef builders post at Darryls expense. Don't take anything I say too seriously guys. I have no problems paying lots of money for a small frag and will continue to do so in the future if it's something I'm after.. So it's not like I'm hounding anyone for anything... Hopefully tho one day it'll be like the green slimer. Good idea on a contest Darryl.. Maybe you could have a "tell me in 500 words or less why I should hook u up with this giant frag pack" contest and u can pick the winner based on whoever u feel should get it...

Still by far my fav LPS. That thing is amazing!!! I bet if Darryl kept his for 4 yrs he would give that coral a run for its money. He grew his from a frag to a nice large colony in about a year or 1 1/2 yrs with lots of feeding.

We all like Contests, I think we should nominate Darryl for outstanding service to the community, You know maybe a link to his build on the TFT opening page. Greatest tank ever. Just some way of thanking him for his inspiration to all of us. You know tank of the year. or Honourable mention.

Just the risk alone in having someone ship the coral from the US would be worth some big money. Not to mention the other potential risks involved in shipping coral across the border.

Exactly that, we the buyer really decide what these corals go for, if nobody was willing to pay the high price then guess what... 20$ frags for everyone. Lol but that's not the case, obviously, if you can get it then all the power to ya.
