I think if you get one that's new, it should be silent, as they wear and in time the bearings go, An MP10 is a great pump if you run it at half speed, I'm running a MP40 in my 70 at half speed with no noise. I've got a spare wet side that I'll switch out once it starts to go.

I will post a video tonight here for you. I run a MP 40 with a bit or noise and a MP 10 that I got from Torx and I can't hear it over the MP 40. But they really aren't that loud.

You are right, they really aren't that loud, just loud enough that in the quiet house, they got on the wife's nerves, so maybe my opinion is hers as I was never home at night through the week and it did not really bother me on weekends. My wife, I mean I, ;) did find the MP-10 louder then the WP-40's that I am running now. Happy wife, happy life.

My Mp 40's are running at like 80% and you can barely hear them, if there is ANY noise like music, tv or even watching something on my phone, I can't hear anything. It takes a while to adjust it just perfectly but I have had zero issues with the ones I have installed on my tank.

It did take me probably like 30 minutes per side to get it just right though.
