Mp40 Vs Maxspec Gyre

I'm going to buy one but not sure which for my 90 gallon...anyone used both and have reviews versus each other?

I have a jebao 60 on my 125 gal and it is dialed back as LOW as it will go.. not sure of the brand that you are looking at but, be careful, don't use the wave maker or pulse, it can blow the end of your tank out..they are powerful..IMHO..

I use both on a 6 ft tank. The gyre is pretty awesome. I use the 2 mp40s as well. Odd are you can make the gyre your only power head in a 4 ft tank. If you have corner overflows it won't fit horizontally. I personally don't like it vertically and if that's the case get the mp40s. You will need 2

I currently have a Jeaboe and after about 8 months its not nearly as powerful as it was on day 1. wouldnt buy another one

My tank isnt drilled so i dont have any overfulls....and have 4 power heads so i would like to get ride of the 4 of them and add either mp40's or the gyre...dose the gyre have different modes like the mp's do?

2× Jebao rw-15 and loving them. I have heard mix reviews about the gyro. If I had the cash, I would do the MP-40's until the gyro has time to get long term reviews.

Yes, but getting a crappy $100 pump hurts less then spending $800 on a crappy pump lol.

Mark, their all crappy when they don't work LOL, I'd look into the Tunze, worth a comparison anyway.

I had an early gyre and there were some issues which they fixed for free. I have no complaints with it. It has pulse and different speeds. They don't recommend pulse unless your tank has been specially constructed to take the wave. Aka DONT lol

Either way you will be happy. You will need 2 mp40 or the gyre and one more power head I'd say

Just regular. You will probably be 30% lol. The flow is crazy.

There are two models.

Xf 150 and Xf 130

For a 90gal. Go with the Xf 130. Or you won't even get close to running the xf150 at 30%

That's odd. I just saw a xf130 there on Monday.

Honestly, if you had your heart set on the gyre. I'd say wait.
But really though. The mp40 is still a rock solid unit.
