ya the scs1200 is definitly a stronger bond. Ive always had a hard time locating a local source for it though. I normally use the GE brand silicone that actually says on it "aquarium safe".  Dont think the SCS1200 is really needed just to reseal, the beads along all the inside corners are not structural.

IMO its a good practice to reseal any used tank you buy. For instance if a tank is treated with copper, the silicone actually absorbs it, and can leach it back out. not to mention obvious issue of leaking.

thats what Home Hardware ( Weather Shield ) is made by  i think, states safe for aquariums right on the lable, should be more than enough just to re-seal

its not too bad to do, so long as you got a good razor blade. Be sure to clean the corners with alcohol before applying the silicone.

looks good but for a none drilled tank thats alot of time and money put into the stand to be using a none drilled tank . should have made it easy on yourself and purchased a drilled I can see it already near future build with a drilled tank .

So its finally all done..will post pics up tmw only problem i had that i didnt know was that the drilled overflow is 3 quater inch and being that it couldnt keep up with my mag 12 or my 9 so i had to also add a hob overflow which sucks and dial the 9 down so the water goes tgru the internal and external to keep it at a good pace.overall looks awesome just kinda pissed about the drilled o.f. Not being able to keep up.

I told u. Go buy a 1/2" barbed T from hd or lowes, remove the ball valve off of the pump, and put the ball valve on the T returning to the sump. This way your pump runs unrestricted and you can fine tune the flow. It needs a second overflow in there the single 3/4" tube isnt enough. I wonder if shortening the length of the overflow tube feom the bulkhead would improve gph?!? Something to gimme to do at work today, ill do some research.

Re: My 150 gallon build--In progress..

i would split the return and let it flow back into the sump with a valve as krazykarl suggests, what was the rate on the drilled overflow?and loss in the GPH of the return can be compensated to a point with powerheads, dump the HOB

Gonna increase stand pipe to 1" schedule 26 pvc. Its thin walled so it will allow more flow... Turn the standpipe into a durso to eliminate noise. T the return and voila!!! Dump the hob
