Think this will work for my sump?

It's just over 8 feet. About 20" across. Very tight not quite sure but under 100 microns. This will Polish the water Fast. So I cut the lower section of the sock and stuck it in the sump. It will remove all fine sediment in the water column.

This is actually an industrial grade filter for a dust collector. These bags filter the air for pollution control measures. My plan is to have them sewn into multiliple large bags for when a good water polishing is needed.

It's a bit small don't ya think? ;)

At that micron size. It'll plug really fast. So if I were you. I'd make sure the edges of the "bag" in your sump is low enough that it'll just spill back into your sump.

Also another thing to consider. Looks pretty big in the sump now. So as it begins to plug. It will collect more and more water. Which will throw off your water level. If running an ato, it will compensate for the drop in water level and possible affect your salinity as well.

Just some food for thought

Already though if it and yep it's plugging fast. But the water is clearing really quick too. Which is perfect because I did some scaping last night and stirred up a little mess. I only have about 3 gallons of ato and yes its running off and on. But it is taking everything that is floating out of the water. Even the cloudiness is gone.

Most people use a 4" x 12 or whatever length 200 micron filter sock. It's what I run. When they get clogged they go into a bucket of water. When I get a bunch that need cleaning I turn them inside out and spray them off with a garden hose. Then they go into a bucket of bleach and water. Then after I get low on socks I put them into the washer and hang dry them.
In this case this monster sock is useless aside from being able to remove all fine particals in the water I about 1 hr. Then it gets clogged and has to be sprayed off. I just finished cleaning it with the garden hose and into the laundry for the next time I need to run a fine filter.

I use a combination of "felt" filter socks and mesh filter socks.
I use mesh for most of the week and the felt ones for about 3 days OR I install them right before i clean my tank and then remove them again when the water is clear.
No one advised me on it,so if i am wrong, someone please let me bigreefer and I know how would be best.
