Those are some nice pieces!  I really hope that aculeus takes off for you.  That blue tabler has a cool growth form too.

Once he kills all those blue clove polyps he'll have  more room. Everything has to stay frag size or it'll grow into each other lol

Re: My 90G Pile of Rocks

No doubt that I will have to start moving out some coral. I have been slowly making space for these new pieces over the last several months.

I am planning a new scape, but I want wait until some of these new frags start taking off. I know less rock work will significantly improve the flow and the overall health of my system.

I've decided that I like my 90 so there will be no imminent future tank upgrades.

In terms of the blue clove, it really doesn't seem to irritate any of the sps.
What I have observed is that it does slow down some encrusting at the base. When I do the re-scape, I will either sell  off the blue clove or I have been reading that one treatment with FLUKE TABS can irradicate the entire population. The treatment will also wipe out any xenia, anthelia, leathers, etc. Most of which have already been removed from my system. Big decision though, as there are risks if its not done right.

On another note, I have 100% wiped out any bryopsis from my system. A number of months ago I added a full sized container of KENT Tech-M over a couple weeks. My Magnesium levels held to over 1800 ppm for 4-6 weeks. The bryopsis started dying off within a week. By the third week I pulled it all out and none ever grew back. During this time my corals never looked better, so I can verify that the treatment is safe like other stories I have read on other forums.

Good job in getting rid of the bryopsis algae.  Any negative effects on running you MG that high?  Your tank looks great!

I haven't noticed anything unusual, all colours and growth did not seem to be affected. Polyp extention was also better than ever. As you know, I did lose a frag, but that was about 2 months after I boosted the levels. I don't think the loss was related, as all other frags that added during the same time are fine and thriving.

Good to know on the techM...ive heard its only that product though and no other magnesium does it.

I was going to use a Brightwell magnesium product, but ended up just going with the Kent Tech-M because there was more documentation on it specifically. Its pretty cool that it actually worked 8)

Yes I did!

The leptastrea "crater coral" is LPS and from what I have read does not require a lot of light and flow. Im going to keep it low for a while and see how it does. The orange is unique and looks pretty sweet! I have read that Lep can grow/encrust quickly so I will see what happens. There are many different colours, so I'm hoping to track down blue leprastrea, as it rocks too!

Here's a pic of blue leptastrea
