So a couple of days ago a bought a two spot goby to sift the sand bed abit. The problem, both nights he seems to find his way into the sump via the overflow ride.  It wouldn't bother me to much if he stayed in my 20 lbs of sump rock but today he was in the section with the return pump which scared me.  I have gutter gaurd over my internal overflow but he still gets in there I have no clue!! I've seen my hector goby chase him when he gets close to him burrow maybe he feels safer in the sump?!?!?  Or he just likes the overflow ride.  I'm lost with this case

put a sponge in the overflow then or use a filter sock in sump that way if he does go down hell be in the sock instead

I'm going to try the sponge,  I used filter socks but if a fish does end up in there over night it usually ends up dead :(

I know eh very interesting personalities!! But he doesn't look so good right now and the only way I can see this little guy getting into my overflow is jumping :$

I have had fish that like that ride to the basement, it's the ones that try to get back upstairs through the hammerhead that don't typically survive lol

it doesnt matter anymore my nassarius snails ate him alive just about 20 mins ago.  ive got 5 and 3 of them keep chasing him, he was alittle weak from goin down the overflow and they just keep chasing him i pushed him away when to grab food and came back 5 mins later and 3 of them were on him
i got them off but by that time he was chewed but bad so i left him in the net and he died later about 10 mins later :(
