OK so i filled the tank with water last night, plugged it all in and boom!! everything works and no leaks, YES!!  then when i woke up this morning i noticed how loud the tank really was. The water flowing to the sump is every loud (it falls about 4 inch's into the sump) and the bulkhead as a sucking noise ( i do have a burp). Is there any way i can quiet this down or are saltwater tank really this loud?

put a filter sock on the pipe into the sump, it will help a lot

If you have a slurping sound from the overflow it means you pump is pumping too hard and the tube can't handle the flow. Try backing off your pump or you can build a durso standpipe for it. It will quiet it down completely. Also, if you can extend the pipe entering the sump to below water level that will eliminate noise too. This is what I had to do.

The Herbie Overflow

The Herbie is a system designed to use both the holes in a standard overflow to work as the first two stages of a full Bean-Animal. Follow these plans, and you can expect to have a system whose noise level and safety are second only to the true Bean-Animal.

Remember that first stage of the Bean-Animal? We will be using the larger of the two holes in your tank to replicate this stage (Right of diagram.) The key to this one is for it to get silent full siphon. The plumbing for this one should just be a strait pipe inside your overflow that only reaches about half way up. On the bottom side of the tank plumb in a ball valve so you can tune it back and be sure to run the plumbing all the way down into the water.

Thanks to http://www.elitereef.com/hybridbeananimal.htm for the info

I beleive there is a small hole put in the elbow on the right pipe to allow air into the upsidedown 'U'

that's similar to what i'm running.  only i have a 90 on the full siphon pointing down, and a 90 on the emergency pointing up. when it's running there's no noise, when there's something wrong it get's loud, letting you know.  i was running my hammerhead wide open with no noise. and the main dialed back a fair bit.
