Need Help Plumbing In Sump

Hey.. first time setting up a tank with overflow and sump. Hoping that I can get some feedback and advice on how I should do the plumbing. Ill be using a bean animal from the ghost overflow into the sump. My question is where should my siphon and open drain enter the sump and where should the emergency enter. It looks like there is a bubble trap in the middle of the filter socks but not sure if I should use it. Also want to use 2 phosban reactors and a skimmer not sure where everything should go. The bioballs are coming out

If I am not right someone please correct me.

Both the siphon and full drain should enter via the sock. The emergency drain I would be tempted to use the middle section with no sock. I can't tell from the photo if it is just a hollow tube going down. Most will say remove the bio balls, myself included. I would try and fit live rock in there or a skimmer . The last area would be where I would put a return pump.

Well the way that sump is set up, you aren't going to have too many choices. As for for the drains, just drill new holes or take off those lids and let them all drain into that first section. With how it was set up you are not going to have much choice how you set the rest of the sump up. Try to wedge a skimmer in the middle section, and the return on the end. That same end section you can run whatever reactor for carbon or GFO, or whatever you want.

So both the main and secondary drains into each of the socks.

Is there any benefit to putting the emergency drain in the middle instead of the end or vise versa?

Just to confirm putting phosban reactors in the return section shouldnt throw off my return/drain flow?

And the "bubble trap" i assume it is between the filter socks.. any recommendations on what to do with that? Should i just remove it?

You could honestly put the emergency drain anywhere. I just thought it would look better with the other drains.

The reactor won't throw anything off in the return pump chamber unless... it is unplugged or off. The reason I say this is only incase you have an ato. The water level would rise etc allowing the level of salt to rise inside the tank. This would be very minimal at best.

I would leave the bubble trap section as to try and reduce the ammount of micro bubbles going into the return pump.

The bubble tube is capped on the bottom, I think its designed for main drain to go into that bubble tube and when it overflows the water runs up into the socks? I could put the main siphon pipe going into that bubble trap and secondary going into one of the socks.

One last question is wouqld you guys reccommend T'ing off reactors on the return pump line or just run a separate pump for them. Not sure how much reactors will throw off the flow of the beananimal.

On my tank I plan to T off of the return liNE. Just make sure your return pump can handle it. I myself am looking at a jebao pump as they are DC and are controllable in terms of gph.

If you are able, I would suggest leaving your emergency drain above the water line of your sump. This way if your siphon drain becomes plugged the noise will alert you to an issue with the drain.
