Need Help With Drilling And Cutting Or Chipping Lr

So I love my tank but theres one thing I HATE, and that's my tank isnt very wide (front to back) and live rock is very hard to move and place, and it's hard to find coral placements in the tank .

So Heres what in thinking I have a space about 12" long and about 4-5" wide on my sand bed dont really care what shape , but what kind of drill bit would you use to drill the rock ?
What kind of rock to use ?
And would you have to cut the rock to shape or is it good chances I can chisel it to shape ?

I want to attach my zoas to this rock so it all stays and will use glue aswell .

A masonry bit will work nicely to drill the rock. But that is more for making holes for frag plugs, or using rods to stack multiple rocks together. Sounds like you just need to find a rock that fits your space... I'd just break an existing larger piece apart with a hammer (and chisel if needed), or buy a piece from a LFS or another reefer that is the specific size/shape you need. The other option is epoxying a couple of smaller pieces together to the size/shape of the space you are looking to fill.

Most of my zoas are on plugs and I don't want to glue unless I have to . Don't really want to add dry rock I could do with 2 peices but I need it flat top and bottom

BRS had a how to video using a hacksaw to cut a rock to flatten an edge- unique use of rock by turning it vertical, yet stable. Do you have a dremel ? (get one) rods can be had by cutting pens and plastic hangers. Pictures please of the project

If you have a few smaller pieces you like, get some coral putty. Follow the instructions, and in 1/2 hour you have 1 piece that can be put in your tank just the way you want it.
